European Integration

The EU made it clear on numerous occasions that the future of the Western Balkan countries lies within the Union, once they fulfil the necessary conditions. These countries are now at various stages on their road towards the EU, working not only on the adoption of the acquis communautaire and its effective implementation but also on strengthening administrative capacities and structures to take responsibility for the management of EU assistance.

Our main targets in this frame are related to institutional strengthening, promotion of the rule of law, public administration reform and obvioulsy legal harmonisation. At the same time we are trying to assist the WB countries in creating a sustainable social and economic system, capable of coping with competition and market forces in the EU.
Given that the preparations for negotiations and the negotiations themselves will involve a large number of well-qualified governmental staff we are also focusing our activities on the training of staff to ensure that a lack of qualified human resources is not a hindrance to efficient integration.

Our areas of expertise are:

  • Management of the EU integration process,
  • Harmonisation of legislation with the acquis,
  • Institution and capacity building activities,
  • Development of training modules on EU affairs,
  • Assistance in the negotiation process,
  • EU programming and PCM,
  • and more
